RPS01

The module contains the AS5048B integrated circuit, which allows the measurement of the magnetic field perpendicular to the surface of the integrated circuit. The module is suitable for measuring the angular position of a magnet and constructing tachometers. The communication interface is I2C.

This is an open-source hardware design, one of the modules from the MLAB labolatory system.

RPS01A

RPS01A

The Magnetic Orientation Sensor Module is a contactless magnetic position sensor designed for accurate angular measurement over a full turn of 360 degrees. This module is ideal for applications requiring precise angle measurements, such as robotics, navigation, and tachometers.

Features

  • Integrated Circuit: AS5048B
  • Measurement Range: 360 degrees
  • Resolution: 0.0879º
  • Magnetic Field Measurement: Perpendicular to the surface of the IC
  • Communication Interface: I2C
  • Absolute Angle Measurement: Provides instant indication of the magnet’s angular position
  • Magnet Requirement: Simple two-pole magnet rotating over the center of the chip

Description

The module contains the AS5048B integrated circuit, which allows the measurement of the magnetic field perpendicular to the surface of the integrated circuit. It is suitable for measuring the angular position of a magnet and constructing tachometers. The digital data representing the angle is available as a serial bit stream.

Usage

To measure the angle, position a simple two-pole magnet over the center of the chip and rotate it. The sensor will provide a high-resolution absolute angle measurement. Connect the module to your microcontroller using the I2C interface to read the angle data.
